Professional Roofing Solutions for Ontario
Advanced Waterproofing & Enveloping Systems Built to Last
Your roof is your home’s first line of defence. It faces everything Ontario’s climate can throw at it heavy snow loads, ice dams, freeze-thaw cycles, and summer storms. A poorly installed or aging roof doesn’t just look bad. It leads to leaks, mold, insulation damage, and costly repairs down the road.
At Tech Home Renovations, we treat every roof as a complete waterproofing and enveloping system. That means every layer from the decking to the underlayment to the final surface is installed to protect your home for decades. We serve homeowners across Southern Ontario, including Hamilton, Kitchener, London, and surrounding communities.
Our Roofing Services
We offer a full range of roofing solutions to match every home style, budget, and protection need. Whether you need a full replacement or a targeted repair, our team handles it with care and precision.
01
Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Asphalt shingles remain the most popular roofing choice in Ontario and for good reason. They’re cost-effective, available in dozens of colours, and perform well in cold climates.
02
Steel & Metal Roofing
Steel roofing is growing fast in popularity across Ontario. It can last 50 years or more, sheds snow efficiently, and reflects summer heat reducing cooling costs by up to 25%. It’s a smart long-term investment for homeowners who want durability and low maintenance.
03
Flat & Low-Slope Roofing
Flat roofs require specialized waterproofing systems. We install TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen membranes that are designed for Ontario’s demanding weather. Proper drainage design is included in every flat roof project.
04
Roof Replacement & Tear-Off
Old, deteriorating roofs need more than a patch-up. We remove the existing material completely, inspect the decking for rot or damage, make repairs where needed, and install a fresh, fully warranted roofing system from the ground up.
05
Roof Repair & Leak Detection
Not every issue calls for a full replacement. Our team diagnoses leaks accurately and provides targeted repairs that restore your roof’s integrity. We never recommend more work than your home actually needs.
06
Eavestrough & Fascia Integration
A roof is only as good as its drainage system. We coordinate eavestrough and fascia installation alongside roofing work to ensure water is directed away from your foundation protecting your entire exterior envelope.

How We Approach Every Roofing Project
We don’t believe in rushing. Every roofing project follows a clear, structured process so you always know what’s happening and why. There are no surprises, just consistent, professional work.
Proven Waterproofing Techniques
We treat your roof as part of a complete moisture management system. Ice and water shield, proper underlayment, and correctly sealed flashings aren't optional extras; they're standard on every job. These details prevent the failures that lead to water damage inside your home.
Modern, High-Performance Materials
We source materials from trusted manufacturers built for Canadian climates. Products are rated for high wind, impact resistance, and extreme temperature fluctuation the real conditions your roof will face in Ontario.
On-Site Owner Oversight
Ryan, Tech Home Renovations' owner, is personally present on every project. You're not handing your home over to a crew you've never met. You're working with the same person who quoted the job, planned the work, and stands behind the results.
Energy Efficiency & Curb Appeal
A new roof can reduce heat loss in winter and solar heat gain in summer. Proper attic ventilation paired with modern roofing materials helps regulate your home's temperature year-round. Studies show that upgrading to a reflective or metal roof can cut cooling energy use by up to 25% in warmer months.

FAQ's
Freeze-thaw cycles are the biggest threat — water seeps under shingles, freezes, expands, and forces materials apart. Ice dams form when heat escapes through the attic, melting snow that refreezes at the eaves. Heavy snow loads add structural stress. Without proper underlayment, ventilation, and ice-and-water shield, Ontario winters accelerate roof failure significantly.
Inspect twice a year — spring and fall. Clear gutters and downspouts after leaf season. Check flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights for gaps. Remove heavy snow buildup after major storms to reduce load. Address missing or curling shingles immediately — small repairs prevented early cost far less than water damage left unchecked.
Old shingles are stripped, decking is inspected and repaired, underlayment and ice-and-water shield go down, then new roofing is installed. Most jobs finish in 1–3 days. Expect noise and driveway disruption. A good contractor cleans up daily and does a final walkthrough with you before leaving.
Yes, but with conditions. Asphalt shingles need temperatures above -10°C to seal and flex properly. Below that, shingles become brittle and can crack during installation. Professional contractors use cold-weather adhesive and hand-seal each shingle. It's doable for urgent repairs — not ideal for full replacements.
Metal roofing — standing seam in particular — leaks the least because it has no exposed fasteners and sheds water and snow efficiently. Properly installed asphalt shingles with ice-and-water shield and correct flashing also perform very well. Flat roofs are the most prone to leaking when drainage is poor or membranes age.
